I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to talk about the importance of speaking up and bringing our voice to the community.
As an organization that is known for our behind the scenes work in building and creating, it can be easy to let our actions speak for
themselves. However, I believe that this year it is important that we also become more vocal in using our platform to educate and change the narrative in our communities. (This is me manifesting and
letting it out to the community).
Our cities, and world are facing a lot of challenges right now from issues of inequality and injustice to economic struggles and environmental concerns. As an organization that is dedicated to making our cities a better place, I believe it is our responsibility to use our voice to speak out about these issues and solutions. This is why we love opportunities like “Speak the Fuck Up!!!
As I write my letter, I stopped and looked around to see the women write and write with meaning. If we can do this with a small group, imagine what we can do when each of us comes together and educates ourselves at events like this.The purpose of my letter is to remind myself of all the good our organization does. I look back
and can’t believe what we created. I thank my loves, my team, these bad ass bitches from Speak the Fuck Up to stir up our world. To educate and support each other.
This letter is also to remind you ladies you can do anything from changing the world to speaking
the fuck up! Thank you for coming to this event. We hope to see you at future ones to strengthen yourself, and to ultimately strengthen the communities we serve.
