Dear Former Boss,

You broke my heart. From day one, we developed a bond that I never anticipated having. I trusted you. You spoke to me and treated me with the utmost respect. You provided me with the opportunity to grow, day after day; coached me and prepped me for the day when I could be on my own. You cultured an environment that was supposed to support women and allow their voices to be heard.

So imagine the heartbreak I felt when you silenced me in partner meetings, stole my ideas, and used them as your own.

You cut me off and went behind my back to speak about my department without me. I wish I had the chance to tell you how I felt before you were fired. I believe in your heart you believe you are good.

You’re not.

You’re as bad as the rest of them.

And I’m still mad at myself for defending you for all those years.
